After drawing against Notts County, wins over Hereford and Torquay mean the Imps have started the new season well. It's been a while since City had a start like this and you'd have go back to 1989 to find a start like this for the Imps and optimism is growing at Sincil Bank.

City's last excellent start came in the 1989/90 season when the Imps won all four of their opening games, beating Scunthorpe (1-0), Aldershot (1-0), Doncaster (2-1) and Torquay (3-0), since then, City haven't even come close to a similar record until this opening week of the season which has seen the Imps secure 7 points from 3 games. The last time the Imps secured 7 points from the opening 3 games was in the 1980/1 season when Imps drew with Peterborough (1-1) whilst beating Torquay (2-1) and Wigan (2-0)
