City aim for rare dose of that "Friday Feeling"

Lincoln City aim to make it 4 wins in a row in Friday matches. But up until recently, wins on Friday were very rare. Since returning to this division back in 1998, the Imps have lost 5 out of the 8 away games that they've played on Friday nights, winning just two in the process.

City have won 4 of the last 5 matches played on Friday's, including an impressive 2-0 win over a strong Hartlepool side earlier in the season. Other than that however, the Imps have struggled to pick up results on a Friday night in the last 8 seasons.

In their history, City have faced Walsall on 4 seperate occasions on a Friday. The first was way back in the 1892/3 season when City beat Walsall T.S 3-1. 4 years later and a name change for the Saddlers didn't help their cause as they walked away from Lincoln with a 2-1 defeat. 28 years later however, they emerged victorious thanks to a 1-0 win. 53 years later and the teams drew 1-1 at Sincil Bank. This Friday will be the first time Walsall have been at home to Lincoln on a Friday night,

Below is a table of all of our Friday games since being relegated game, with away games being in an italic font.
