Leicester City's Louis Dodds has joined the Imps on a season long loan, the third new player that the Imps have recruited in a very slow pre-season. Easily the youngest of the three signings, Dodds is expected to have a good season given his record whilst playing for the youth and reserve sides at the Walkers Stadium. This will be his first extended period of first team action.

Dodds joined Leicester a few years back and has scored 65 goals in 3 seasons, only 5 strikers in the Football League have a more consistant record outside of actual matches. His record in competitive matches is average, scoring 5 goals in 18 games shared between Northwich and Rochdale last season.

He played against the Imps in City's 2-0 defeat at Spotland last season but failed to score. He scored twice whilst at Rochdale and both turned out to be the winning goals in away games, at Chester and Mansfield respectively. Infact, the 5 goals he's scored in competitive football has all coincided with wins.

He will more than likely make his competitive debut for the Imps in next week's home game against Shrewsbury.
