Scunny out of race for Boulding

City's chances of securing Michael Boulding's signature took a boost after Nigel Adkins admitted that Scunthorpe are now out of the running. The striker has been attracting the many around the area and Scunthorpe were one of the sides who confirmed their interest in the past, but now they have pulled out in the race to sign Boulding.

Michael Boulding's 2007/8 season impressed many in the footballing world and he has since been linked with City, Grimsby, Rotherham and Scunthorpe, amongst others. Mansfield's relegation certainly helped everyone's situation, especially after Boulding stated he thought he was far too good for non-league football.

Nigel Adkins has pulled out of the race for the striker, admitting on local radio that his interest in Boulding went as far as a quick conversation with him and stopped there and then.

This will come as good news for the Imps as Scunthorpe were the arguably the favourites to sign him. Boulding has stated that he believes he could still do a job at League One level and possibly higher, but now that the only League One club to be linked with him have pulled out, the door now seems wide open for the Imps.

Mansfield are still unrealistically hoping that the striker agrees to stay at Field Mill. Infact, you've got to admire their optimism though.

Love to sign him IMO
Him and wright will make an excellent combination, 2 top class goalscoarers, if we sign him, i'm sure season ticket's will rocket becuase of his record last season, Sincil bank needs a new goal scoarer since ummmm ...... Yeo ..?
