Lincoln City travel to Gigg Lane on Saturday but it's never been a fixture that has been full of goals. The sides have barely managed two goals a game between them in the 21st century and players very rarely score more than once each. This has been the hardest "by numbers" to compile to date.

The Imps and the Shakers have met 14 times in the 21st century, none of the games have been high scoring with only one of the goals have more than three goals in it, a 2-2 draw at Gigg Lane in the 2006/7 season.

In the fourteen games, there have been thirty goals scored by twenty-five different goalscorers. Only five players have scored more than once, three for Bury and two for the Imps.

It's a shock that the sides have only managed thirty goals between them in fourteen games, especially considering that have amassed 255 shots between them in that time. City have taken up 140 of that total and 73 of those were on target, Bury took up the other 115 shots with 59 being on target.

The most common result between the sides has been a draw, eight of the fourteen games in the 21st century have been a draw, each side securing three wins each with City's last being on New Year's Day in 2005, Craig Westcarr scoring his only goal for the club.

There have been four penalties taken in regulation time between the sides in those fourteen meetings, three of which were scored. Ben Sedgemore scored the first in the home game in 2002/3 before Andy Preece equalised from the spot in the same game.

Andy Preece also scored the winning goal from the spot in the game at Gigg Lane in 2003/4, the only time that the team who scored first have lost. The only missed penalty came in last season's game at Gigg Lane with Andy Bishop seeing his effort saved by Alan Marriott.

Going back to City losing after scoring first in 2003/4, that is one of six occasions where the Imps have taken the lead against Bury and failed to win in the 90 minutes. Bury have failed to win two of the occasions where they scored have scored first.

Both sides have kept two clean sheets each. Both of City's came in the 2004/5 when both games ended 1-0 to the Imps, Bury's two came in 2-0 victories, one at Gigg Lane in 2003 and one at Sincil Bank in 2006.
