EXCLUSIVE : Defender desperate to join

In a chance meeting with Hamza Bencharif, he revealed to me that he is desperate to rejoin the Imps in the summer and was disappointed not to already have rejoined us after Billy Davies said he was going to give the youngster a chance eventually, something which has yet to materialise.

Bencharif was the last signing under the Schofield/Deehan range and impressed many during his loan spell at Sincil Bank, so much so that the Imps have enquired on several occasions about having him back. He was set to join on loan again before Colin Calderwood was sacked at Forest, replaced by Billy Davies. The Scot promised Hamza would get a chance but it still hasn't several months later.

For those that don't know, I work part-time in a cinema in Nottingham and Hamza visited on Monday evening. After not being entirely sure if it was him or not, I asked and he confirmed. After a conversation about Forest we got onto Lincoln City and he revealed he hopes to join the Imps in the summer.

MYSELF : "So what's happening regarding Lincoln, do you still want to come back?"

HAMZA : "Definitely, I loved my time there and felt I settled in well. I'm tired of waiting for a chance that might not come and I'd love to join Lincoln if given the opportunity."

MYSELF : "Have you been contacted regarding rejoining?"

HAMZA : "Yeah, they've been in contact recently and things will hopefully get moving soon."

I can see him joining in the summer. When i asked him about coming on loan at the forest v Qpr afew weeks ago, he reply he was still part billy plans but davies havnt played him since saying that.

I heard forest maybe getting rid their reserves team next season aswell.

On 1st April 2009 the notts and imps reserves play each other at SB, so maybe he will play, hopefully get some info from him about this.

Been told tonight that someone from forrst,sheff utd and leeds we're all at sincil bank tonight. Maybe watching N guessan?

hopefully Kovacs won't be playing next season! And if Benchefif hoofs it, normally they are aimed at someone, which our inability strikers might posibily get on the end of.
