City unseeded in Carling Cup

Lincoln City have received confirmation that they will enter the Carling Cup Draw as an unseeded team next Tuesday. The Imps could potentially face a huge draw against a big local team, including either Sheffield team, Leeds United or a rematch with Derby.

City are looking for their first progression in the Carling Cup since the 5-1 win in 2005/6 over Crewe. The Imps haven't won a single cup or knock out competition match since then, meaning that the pressure is on for City to produce a Cup run at some point.

With the news announced that City will be unseeded, the Imps could be set for a big draw against one of several former Premier League giants. Unfortunately no website appears to list which teams will be classed as "northern" in the draw, so the below is our likely list of potential opponents.

Sheffield United

Preston

Sheffield Wednesday

Doncaster Rovers

Blackpool

Derby County

Nottingham Forest

Barnsley

Leicester City

Leeds United

Scunthorpe United

Unseeded, that is a disgrace following our recent cup runs......erm!! Am I dreaming again?

I really cannot understand this? Why oh why are we unseeded? Surely we are as big as Blackpool???????
