Striker Simon Yeo has told the Lincolnshire Echo that he will sign the new contract he was offered after the showdown talks he had with Keith Alexander last Friday.
The striker is currently one of the most popular players at Sincil Bank and scored 13 goals last season with the vast majority of those coming from the substitues bench.
"As reported, I had talks with manager Keith Alexander on Friday and, after discussions with my wife and advisor I have decided my future lies at City,"
"Lincoln City is a big part of my life and I was hoping a new deal with the right terms would be offered.
"After we sat down with Keith I had no doubts about signing the contract which I will pen this week.
"I had two offers from clubs nearer my Stockport home, but I believe they do not have the ambition of Keith Alexander and Lincoln City.
Many thought Yeo was destined to join Bailey in leaving Sincil Bank and moving closer towards his family in Stockport believed to be Stockport County and Oldham Athletic.
"I am totally convinced next season will be third time lucky and we will achieve promotion after successive disappointments in the play-offs."
Yeo becomes the first player to announce he is stay but Simon Weaver, Matt Bloomer, Jamie McCombe, Chris Cornelly and Marcus Richardson are all yet to decide and Keith Alexander has said that if they haven't made their minds up by the time he gets back from his holiday a week on Saturday then he will seriously consider taking away the offers and force all 5 to look for new clubs.
