Swansea's manager, Kenny Jackett recently celebrated his first year in charge. Kenny Jackett's first game as Swans manager was a 2-1 loss at Sincil Bank and it will be a case of deja vu as his first game in this 2nd year in charge is at Sincil Bank.
Jackett has enjoyed a rather successful 12 months in charge and the Swans a prime for an automatic promotion charge because after the game against the Imps on Saturday, they have 4 "easy" games which should see them get at least third place and possibly the title.
However, the former QPR man has been quick to state nothing would make him happier than 3 points against the Imps on Saturday.
''We're back in the top three with the points on the board and that's where every manager wants to be,'' Jackett said to the Swansea Evening Post. ''But we have to forget all the pats on the back and concentrate on what is an absolutely massive game next.''
Jackett was also quick to join a growing list of managers to praise the Imps, "Every club plays its own way and has its own system. Lincoln are a good side and they've been in the play-offs the last couple of seasons. I've got every respect for what Keith Alexander has done there and I'm expecting a tough match."
Jackett joins in the argument restarted by Rushden and Diamonds boss Barry Hunter when he described the Imps' style of football as "ugly", since Keith took over, managers have been quick to get on the Imps' back about their tactics such as Denis Smith, John Taylor and Rob Newman but there have also been those who have praised the Imps in a similar way to Jackett. High profile manager such as Steve Bruce, Peter Taylor and Gary Johnson have all said that despite the tactics, it's results that are important and you can't argue with those.
The argument about City's tactics will never end and Jackett will get to see them first hand on Saturday. Swansea will aim to avoid defeat away to a top 7 side for the first time this season almost exactly a year after the Imps won 2-1 at Sincil Bank.
