Imps legend, "Hoof" Grant Brown has now officially taken up his role as the new manager of the Lincoln City youth team. The record appearance holder has now started to work with the youth team in what will be his first managerial roleand he'll hopefully bring success to the side.

Brown follows in the footstep of fellow former Imps' player, John Schofield, who has officially taken up a role as a coach with the first team after several rather successful years as the y/t boss. Brown has inherited a very talented crop of youngsters including several that could very well stake a claim for a starting place within the next few years, including Ollie Ryan, Leon Mettam, Lee Frecklington, Tom Cooke and Gareth Jones.

Grant joined the Imps initially in 1989 from Leicester City but got released in 2002 due to the financial difficulties at the time. In that period, he made an impressive 468 appearances for the Imps and broke the League appearance record in the 2-0 away defeat to York City in 2001/2.

The youth team started their season with a 2-2 draw at home to their counterparts from Mansfield which is a pleasent start after the disappointing season for the youngsters in 2004/5.
