He's not coming back

Rumours have been circulating on the internet that Ben Futcher would make a return to the Imps after being transfer listed. The 6'7 defender left the Imps during the summer but has struggled to find any real form at Boston and is far from a fan favourite and he's now been transfer listed.

Futcher, who left for "footballing" reasons, was one of the main reasons behind Boston's incredibly poor start which has picked up since he's been dropped and now, the son of former Grimsby man, Paul Futcher, has been put on the transfer list at York Street. However, despite speculation, Futcher is not making a return to the Imps, something that neither Futcher or Lincoln want.

Futcher is instead heading for either Rotherham or Yeovil as both look to tighten their defences after mixed starts to the season.

Futcher was one of Keith Alexander's first signings when he took over and he was the club's top scorer in 2002/3, capping it off with a goal that made it 1-1 in the playoff final. The next two years however, proved hard for Futcher as despite keeping his place, was quickly finding himself surrounded by more talented defenders as both Jamie McCombe and Gareth McAuley were brought in and most people's ideal starting line-up didn't have Futcher in. Futcher's last goal for the Imps' came in the 1-1 draw with Southend in March before becoming the 2nd player to leave Sincil Bank in the summer.
