After recent speculation linking Simon Yeo coming back to City, he has quickly refuted the claims during the week. Yeo, speaking to the New Zealand Knight's website said that his comments were taken way out of context and he never hinted he was looking for a quick return.

On Wednesday, stories surfaced in an unnamed media source claiming that Yeo wanted to return and this caused both elation and confusion amoungst fans on the internet. However, the striker has been quick to refute these claims, stating on the New Zealand Knight's website,

“The journalist caught me at a bad time and took some responses at a little more than face value. I had struggled for a few weeks with injury and then been sent off against Adelaide so I was pretty frustrated. I want to make it clear however that my future is here with the NZ Knights. I have spoken with the Chairman and the Manager and they understand the context of the comments I made and that they in no way indicate I want out or wish to return home. This is my home now and I am determined to help get this team to the level that I know we can play at, starting this weekend against Queensland. What I didn’t rule out in the interview was a return to Lincoln one day, maybe as a player coach or in a coaching role but that is not even on the horizon at the moment.”

So this confirms that Yeo, despite certain media sources claims, has no interest in returning to the club within the near future.
