Country's top scorer on trial with City

Lincoln City has given a trial to Ossett Town striker, James Walshaw who is currently the country's leading goalscorer. His 19 goals so far this season, mean no-one else in the UK has scored more goals than him and he could get his football league chance if he impresses in a trial.

The 21 year old has a ratio of a goal a game for the non-leaguers and is said to be one of the hottest prospects in the lower leagues. His goalscoring talents were on display in the FA Cup against Matlock Town where he bagged 4 goals, which got him the runners-up prize in the FA Cup player of the Round.

Walshaw will train with the Imps and play in the reserves against Hartlepool United tomorrow afternoon, where he will be hoping to earn himself a contract at Sincil Bank.

Speaking of the reserves, the fixture against Doncaster Rovers, scheduled for next Wednesday, will now be played on Wednesday January 18th.
