Simon Yeo's agent, Jason Dunford has stated that he client only wants to move to one club following his recent release from New Zealand Knights. The agent of the ever popular striker said that the ball was in Lincoln's court and after Keith Alexander said welcome the move, a transfer looks likely.

There has been speculation for 2 months now about Yeo's inpending return to Sincil Bank, however, he was performing well in a very poor New Zealand Knights side, who have won just 1 of their opening 15 games and Yeo's continuing financial troubles meant that he has opted for a return to England and he has been released from his contract with the Knights.

Since the news broke about Yeo's wish to return to England, there have been many teams taking an interest in the striker including Huddersfield, Doncaster, Tranmere, Scunthorpe, Yeovil and several other clubs that would easily be able to afford more wages than the Imps, however, Munford gave Lincoln fans hope today when he confirmed in the Echo that Yeo wants to return to Sincil Bank and that wages are irrelevant.

"Simon is desperate to get back to Lincoln, he feels like a Lincoln person, given the relationship he enjoyed with the fans. They're in his heart and Simon is ready to reject other clubs. The ball is firmly in Lincoln's court. I don't think they would have to break the bank to get him either. When you are regarded by the fans like he is, then money doesn't even come into the equation."

Yeo struggled for 2 and a half years to find the net consistantly for the Imps, however, when January struck this year, Yeo scored in 12 of the first 17 matches of this calender year. The last of his goals came after 32 seconds of the televised home game against Scunthorpe, he failed to score in the following 9 matches, but without his goals, the Imps would have lost 8 points and the Imps would have finished a long way outside of the playoffs.

Lincoln signed Yeo from Hyde United in 2002 after the postman had scored 100 goals in 4 seasons. After 3 years at City, he saw the move to an international club proved too good of an oppurunity to turn down, however, it didn't quite go to plan.

"He went out to New Zealand to give it a go and it takes a big man to admit he got it wrong and come back. Simon enjoyed the football, but he was misguided on a few aspects by people out there.
Now he is on his way back - and he's looking forward to it."

Yeo is set to be in the crowd for the game against Boston, where he will more than likely meet up with Keith Alexander and possibly discuss a deal. Watch this space.
