One of the Imps' 2 chairman, Ray Trew has today handed in his resignation and leaves Sincil Back after a hectic. The board have seriously come under fire with Trew and Wright taking the majority of critisism for something that could inevitably not be their fault. What a fun week this has been.

Sincil Bank has rarely seen a week like this one, a former striker returns, we draw at Mansfield, a youngster makes his debut, the management team get put "on leave" and to top it all off, Ray Trew, a man with the club truly at heart, has resigned from his position as chairman of football. His last act was to inevitably fail to sign Jon Parkin.

"On January 3 I formally tendered my resignation to the Board of Lincoln City Football Club as Chairman of Football, Board Director and Director of Lincoln City Centre of Excellence Ltd," read the release. This decision was not taken lightly. My time with LCFC has been a fulfilling one and I have made many friends through my involvement with the club. Unfortunately, recent events in the Boardroom caused me to re-evaluate my position on a matter of principle.  I really would rather not comment further. I wish the club every success in the future and would like to take this opportunity to thank the players, colleagues and the supporters of LCFC for their hospitality and support during my time with the club."

The direct confirmation of Trew resigning is to be made at some point tonight as the club have promised the Imps' fans that there will be a statement in the early hours of the evening.
