Imps want to end 37 years Magpie's stealing

Lincoln City go into Saturday's game with Notts County, aiming to end a run of 37 years without beating the Magpies at home. Since City's 5-0 win over County in the 1968/9 season, City have lost 7 of the 8 meetings between the clubs at Sincil Bank with the single draw being in the League Cup.

City have an absolutly miserable record against the Magpies at home and the last win for the Imps at Sincil Bank came in the 1968/9 season when the Imps won 5-0. Since then, 8 games have been played with Notts County winning 7 of those. The other game was a 1-1 draw in the League Cup and City went on to progress in the 2nd Leg with a 3-2 win, making it 4-3 on aggregate.

The most memorable game in this sequence came in the 1997/8 season when Notts County visited Sincil Bank just over a month after taking the league leadership off the Imps and the Magpies showed exactly why they were champions that year as they beat City 5-3, despite the Imps fighting back from 3-0 down to make it 3-3 at one point.

In history, the Imps have won just 7 of the 27 meetings at Sincil Bank, whilst County have won 14.
