Hull send scouts to watch Hughes

We all knew it would happen eventually and against Notts County, Hull sent their scouts to watch Jeff Hughes. The defender has been on fire for the Imps and recently agreed a new contract with the Imps, however, this has not detered the Championship side who are very keen on the youngster.

Hull manager, Peter Taylor has often admitted to being an admirer of Lincoln and has scouted many Imps' players down the years and came close to signing ex-Imp Ben Futcher on several occasions. His side have struggled in the Championship after 2 straight promotions and if it wasn't for the bad form of several other teams, they could easily be in a relegation battle. Taylor is believed to want to tighten up the defence that conceeded 3 goals in the home defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

Taylor sent 3 of his most experience scouts to Sincil Bank to run the rule over Hughes and they are believed to be impressed with what they saw of the youngster who put in a great performance for the Imps. Hughes recently agreed a new 2 year contract with the Imps and has also broken into the Northern Irish Under 21 side.

With Hughes agreeing the new contract, it would force Hull to make a significant bid if they wanted to sign Hughes and apparantly, Hull aren't the only championship team interested.
