Keith Alexander leaves after 4 years

Lincoln City and Keith Alexander have parted company for a second time after returning to the club just over 5 years ago. It was Alexander's decision to leave Sincil Bank and the club reluctantly agreed to this. Alexander used the reason that someone else should take up the challenege.

Alexander returned as Alan Buckley's assistant in the 2001/2 season but became full time manager when Buckley left due to the financial troubles of the summer of 2002. Alexander changed the club around and took the Imps to four playoff campaigns in a row, including reaching the final on two occasions. A tribute to Lincoln's never-say-die attitude under Alexander was no more evident than when Alexander was taken into hospital after collapsing at home one night in November 2003 and he had died three times on the operating table before returning to full-time management with a 1-1 draw at home to Boston.

Keith Alexander is now the hot favourite to take the hot-seat at Peterborough United but it is anyone's guess who will take the manager's role at Sincil Bank.
