Ex Imp Jamie McCombe has gone from praising Lincoln a few days ago, to now complaining about the tactics used at the Bank. A few days, he told the Bristol City official website that he was sad to leave Sincil Bank but his lasted interview down south seems to be proving otherwise.

On Thursday, McCombe described his time at Sincil Bank as an enjoyable one and regretted leaving but deemed it a nessacery move to furthur his career. However, since then he has changed his opinion and the Imps' player of the season has now come out and complained about the tactics used during his 2 years and 2 months at Sincil Bank.

Jamie said in his latest interview with the Bristol Daily Express ;

"Before I was at Lincoln I was at Scunthorpe and they always played football but going to Lincoln was a total contrast, but you have to do what is right for the team and what the manager believes. I didn't want to smash it in the corners and flick things on but that's what got Lincoln success with the players they had. They didn't have a massive budget to go out and buy whoever they wanted."

The Imps have been constantly berated over the tactics over the last few years but now that Keith Alexander has left, the fans will be hoping that it's not mainly long ball that is used at Sincil Bank. Although the amount of football played under Keith Alexander went up with time, defenders such as McCombe were told just to hoof it as far upfield as they could possibly get it.

Jamie continued : ""I went forward for goalkicks, which was bizarre. I had never seen that before," he said. "But it worked - we had me and Ben Futcher, who went forward and won the flick-on and we just played the percentage game. It wasn't pretty to watch and wasn't great to play in but you have to do what you are told. You try to express yourself the best way you can but you do a job for the team rather than yourself."

Bristol City could again be set to raid League 2 as they have made a £300,000 bid for Grimsby striker, Michael Reddy.
