No news is good news.....right?

It's a very quiet time at Sincil Bank with the club keeping very quiet about candidates who have applied for the job. It has now been confirmed that John Gormon applied for the job before taking the hotseat at Northampton but the supporters choice is still for John Ward to take over.

Rumours have been circulating that Ward had an interview via the telephone for up to 3 hours and if true, that would be very exciting news for Imps' fans who have said that Ward would be their first choice since Keith Alexander left 2 weeks ago. The former Imps' striker guided Cheltenham Town to playoff success, defeating City's conquerers Grimsby on the way and also achieving the double over the Imps.

Former Wycombe boss John Gormon applied for the job after being let go by Wycombe in what was apparantly a "mutual decision" but the manager has chosen to take the manager's chair at Northampton after Colin Calderwood left for Nottingham Forest. Hiring Gorman might be a bit risky though due to how the loss of his wife earlier this year tore Wycombe's form to pieces.

Other than those 2, the other candidates aren't specifically known yet but Mick Harford, Glenn Cockerill and Steve Thompson are all believed to be in the running for the vacant manager's seat at Sincil Bank.

Hopefully by this time, the club will have appointed a new manager but I wouldn't advise you to hold your breath.
