Despite reducing the cost of full adult membership from £90 down to a mere £60, our recent "Question of the Week" suggests that the county are unlikely to improve on last year's 1,876 members.

Last year's total was almost 26% down on 2000 and our poll suggests that the club could well see that total fall further. When asked "Are you likely to join Derbyshire CCC this season now the price has been reduced to £60?", a massive 82% answered "You must be joking".

12% of our readers who voted said that they may join, but a disappointing 6% said the lower charges were good value. Not an encouraging sign for the club with the new season just a fortnight away.
