After weeks of inactivity and uncertainty, "the independent voice of Derbyshire cricket" is back in action as part of SportNetwork.net, a new sports network designed and run by former Rivals football publisher John Wards.

In his article on the network's "About Us" page, Wards says that the network "was started because Rivals.net sacked publishers and shut sites down. These sites had done nothing wrong except not generate 100's of thousands of page views and some sites actually were generating well over 100 thousand page views a month but they didn't fit the Rivals.net brand i.e. FOOTBALL (Oh and popular football at that!)"

This network gives a new home to sites that Rivals unceremoniously dumped and Sting In The Tail is delighted to be one of the first former Rivals sites to join.

It's going to be an uphill struggle to get Sting In The Tail back to it's former glory, but please bear with me. I will try to have as many of the popular features up and running as soon as possible. Some of the less popular features will take time and some will get dropped. If you have anything you would particularly like to see on the site, please e-mail me, Alan Rowley, and I'll see what I can do.

I am also looking for sponsors for the new site, as I've now lost Rivals' monthly income and I have to find all running costs myself. So, if you or your company, would like to assist with the costs of the running of the site in return for banner advertising, please contact me as soon as possible.
