Dominic Cork provided some late heroics as Derbyshire snatched an incredible two-run win against Durham in the Frizzell County Championship Division Two. With Durham on 231 for seven chasing 235 to win, Cork claimed three late wickets to dismiss the visitors for 232.

Paul Collingwood appeared to have put his side on course for victory with an impressive 76 off 94 balls to put Durham in the driving seat. Rain dented Durham's victory pursuit two balls into their second innings, but after an early lunch they made a positive start. Lewis was first to go with the score on 30 as Cork claimed his wicket for the second time in the match.

Lewis was caught by Andrew Gait for 12, but Jimmy Daley remained at the crease after three early boundaries. Martin Love joined him at the wicket, but after a rapid 19 from 27 balls, he became a victim of Mohammad Ali with Cork taking the catch.

Rain again caused disruption, but on the resumption Daley and Collingwood started to put together an impressive stand. The duo got to tea with the score on 125, leaving them needing 109. They continued to prosper, but Daley was forced to retire with a hand injury with 174 on the board, Nicky Peng coming to the crease.

Jason Kerr dismissed Peng and Collingwood in quick succession to leave Durham on 191 for four before Gordon Muchall and Andrew Pratt added another 20 runs. Pratt was then bowled by Ali, and Muchall became his third victim when he was caught behind by Karl Krikken for 14.

Cork snapped up Graeme Bridge, caught by Michael DiVenuto for one, to leave Durham teetering on 216 for seven - but Neil Killeen and Mark Davies edged them to within four runs of the target before Killeen became Cork's third victim.

Daley returned to the fray, but watched in disbelief as Cork dismissed Davies and Stephen Harmison in successive balls with Luke Sutton taking catches to dismiss them both as Daley was left stranded on 59.
