Derbyshire and Lancashire took a point apiece from their Benson & Hedges group clash at the County Ground after rain allowed only 4.3 overs of play. The visitors were arguably more relieved when the heavens opened within 20 minutes of the delayed start, having lost Glen Chapple and David Byas in the space of seven balls. Chapple, promoted to open the batting in the hope of providing a rapid start, managed just four runs before Kevin Dean trapped him lbw in front. Byas saw out the remainder of the over before playing round a full-length Dominic Cork delivery. Mark Chilton ended the day unbeaten on three. Source: Ananova |
