Abbey Glass Division 1

Elvaston 146-1 beat Stainsby Hall 145 by 9 wickets

Stainsby batted first and struggled against the bowling of Simon Thompson (6-37) and Andy Barrett (3-35), though there were useful knocks from Greg Smith (43) and Eian Marilier (41). Skipper Richard Johnson spearheaded Elvaston's confident reply, scoring 51 and Lee Archer saw them comfortably home with 65 not out

The game between Marehay and Lullington Park was abandoned because the overnight rain had flooded the outfield. Also, the game between Nutbrook and Belper Meadows was abandoned because the outfield was saturated by a burst main water supply. Because of the unusual circumstances it has been agreed that this fixture can be re-arranged.

Morton Colliery 233-4 beat Staveley Welfare 230-5 by 6 wickets

Batting first Staveley had an indifferent start despite 32 from David May, but their fortunes improved when David Gray and John Douglas came together for a sixth wicket partnership which boosted their score. Gray was 58 not out and Douglas 83 not out. In the event it wasn't enough because Morton overtook their score with 20 balls to spare. Yet Morton had to recover from a poor start, having lost four wickets for 46. Then an unbroken partnership between overseas player Jimmy Miller and Geoff Deane put on 186 for the fifth wicket. Deane, who was playing with a broken finger, scored 53 not out and Miller was 138 not out.

Spondon 208-6 beat Selston Town 205 by 4 wickets

Selston's innings saw a welcome return to form of Skipper Chris Dunn who made 78, and with Scott Godfrey adding 43 not out they posted a challenging total.For Spondon there were good spells from Paul Cook (3-33) and Dean Vickers (3-64). Peter Davies set Spondon on their way with 42, to which was added 89 by Matt Jones and 32 by Joe Ashdown. Selston's Anthony Aduele took 3-54.

West Hallam167-8 drew with Shipley Hall 144-9

West Hallam batted first and their top scorers were Andy Bowley with 48 and Wes Essex with 31. Shipley's newcomer Zakir Hussain again proved his worth in taking 6-26. Harvinder Singh Sodhi provided the backbone to the Shipley reply, scoring 58, but they were hard pressed in the end as they survived for a draw, with West Hallam's overseas player, Campbell Ogilvie, taking 4-20.

Abbey Glass Division 2

Allestree 134-8 drew with Alfreton 150-8

Ben Scheffer was Alfreton's top scorer with 61 and Dean Whitmore added 32, and for Allestree Matt Sirrell took 3-34 and Matt Hoe 3-41. In their reply Allestree were coasting home at 100-0, but when Sirrell was out for 49 and Danny Walton for 42 there was a dramatic collapse and they ended up by playing out for the draw. The change in fortunes was produced by David Schofield 4-21 and Ian Bowler 3-25.

Duffield 180-8 drew with Sandiacre Town 2nds 181-7

Duffield will be kicking themselves for not winning this one. Batting second they were just one run short of the tie and two of a win.. For Sandiacre Ian Hopkins made 36, Jake Needham 40 and Steve Brown 30, and the best bowling by Duffield came from Ed Sims (3-40) and Balrage Johal (3-41). Duffield were well on their way with 55 from Dave Gadsby, 34 from Sims and 38 from Johal, but they failed to squeeze out those extra runs. For Sandiacre Ron Patel took 3-42 and Andy Marlow 3-28

Little Eaton 86 lost to Denby 2nds 88-4 by 6 wickets

Little Eaton were well beaten by a strong Denby 2nd XI. Lee Atkin (4-18) and Andy Bria (3-15) combined to skittle them out, and Ross Perry-Taylor (43) set Denby on their way to a comfortable win.

Mickleover 81-6 beat Brailsford 79 by 4 wickets

Mickleover's bowlers took advantage of the conditions, with Brad Moore taking 3-27 and Stuart Divers 3-21, but there was a defiant knock from Ben Goddard (30). Batting second Mickleover paced their reply, with Robert Heath (35 not out) guiding them home.

Ockbrook 2nds 215-4 lost to Aston on Trent 216-7 by 3 wickets

This was a rare defeat for Ockbrook, but it was an excellent game. Nigel Sulley (77), Ashleigh Gough (59) and Lindsey Morgan (32 not out) contributed to Ockbrook's big score. Aston responded well to this challenge and there were crucial contributions from Arfan Fazal (47), Syed. Faisal (58) and Mohammed Ashfaq (53 not out)

Ticknall 152-7 beat Rolleston 97 by 30 runs

For Ticknall Nathan Harding made 32 not out and Graham Chamberlain 30 in a total which turned out to be a good challenge in the damp conditions. Chris Colley (30) batted well for Rolleston but they were undone by the conditions and the bowling of Ryan Cowley (5-19).

Derbyshire Building Society Division 3A

Biggest score of the day in this Division was by Derby Congs who made 258-4 against Elvaston 2nds. This included 63 from Mahroof Hussain, 66 from Vernal Cooper and 63 not out from Mark Baines. Elvaston fell far short on 150-8, but at least they saved the draw.

Swarkestone beat Tibshelf by 96 runs. James Wilcox made 53 and Andrew Lancaster in their 183-8. There were good bowling performances from Keith Else for Tibshelf (5-51) and by Andrew Turner for Swarkestone (5-41)

Quarndon 2nds beat Rolls Royce by 5 wickets. Peter Clark made 47 for Royces and Chris Sanders 69 not out for Quarndon.

Alvaston & Boulton 2nds compiled a good score of 206-6 against South Wingfield, which included 55 from Mohammed Ayub, 46 from John Butler and 40 from Omar Yousean.. South Wingfield responded well with useful knocks from Peter Shuttleworth (44), Mark Lindley (39) and Steve Jelley 31., but they ended short on 183-6.
