Arsenal have sent out compulsive reasons as to why supporters on the season ticket waiting list may want to pay up to £4750 for a ticket on the level. No it not the free drinks at half time, nor the chance not to mingle with the hoi polloi, or to have your own fire exit.
No its all far more compulsive than that. These chaps know how to market, in a nutshell the argument is this : "Purchasing Club Level could be your only opportunity to secure a seat in the Emirates Stadium."
There is nothing like reasoned argument is there?
Arsenal Times (see link below) has already argued that all this targeting of the elite and corporate would keep out the ordinary supporter. According to AFC there will only be 13000 additional season tickets available, but half of those will go to Islington residents who have priority (fair enough the club should have roots in the area) that will leave only 6500 extra season tickets.
As the waiting list is 26000 it means the majority of those on the list have very little chance of getting an ordinary season ticket. It means the whole project and selling out to the Emirates means that only 6500 will benefit. Well thats loyalty rewarded. Its well worth £25 to have a certificate that proves you have no chance of a ticket. I always though seling worthless certificates was fraud.
Now for only £2500 you can wipe away the tears, and sit in the corner, or behind the goal for £3250.
There is no mention of what happens to your place in the queue if you take up the offer.
