Chelsea Chairman Discovers Principles Shock!

We have already heard that Ashley Cole intends to appeal against the penalty and verdict of the Premiership committee(see report before this, link below). Although Ashley might not be too pleased to hear that his agent is to be investigated by the FA.

So no shock in any of that, but the real shock has come from Chelsea's Chairman Bruce Buck stating that they will almost certainly appeal. That he was shocked at the extent of the sanctions. He argues that by attending the meeting the club did not go over the line. That the punishment was disproportionate.

His argument runs on the lines that they just met Cole without intent of discussing a contract. Perhaps they were discussing the weather.

Buck insisted he didn't believe they were guilty as found, and therefore appealing was a matter of principle.

Rather late in the day to discover you have principles isn't it Bucky baby?
