It's not looking good for England as they will have to make their highest score at Trent Bridge to win. England tried everything, even put Pieterson on to bowl a couple of overs however that didn't work.
England could be set to lose this test and draw the series as an adamant Sri Lanka took over. Panesar got figures of 3 – 64 but that seem to go un-noticed. It resumed on 45-1 this morning. Alistair Cook caught Upul Tharanga out by a simple catch. Sangakkara was then caught at slip to be sent to the pavilion having got 66 runs, which was then followed by Sanath Jayasuriya as he went out for LBW having got just 4 runs.


Jayawardene and Tillakratne Dilshan put up a fight adding 43 runs onto the score and neither looked like they were going to go soon. With time running out Flintoff looked to Kevin Pieterson who tried to work his magic on spin bowling. That didn’t work so Liam Plunkett was introduced. Plunkett, who plays for Durham, then got Jayawardene caught behind driving at a wide ball. Kapugedera came to the crease and with Dilshan they added plenty of runs onto their score.

However both of them soon went as Dishlan saw himself falling to Hoggard and Farveez Maharoof then got bowled out. Kapugedera and Chaminda Vaas both came to the crease and will continue tomorrow. Last chance of the day was to get Kapugedera out at 34 however Marcus Trescothick missed a hard chance and dropped the ball.

The day will resume tomorrow with Sri Lanka on 286-7.
