Vince in Opening Bid for Test Place

Hampshire's James Vince is keen to regain his test place this year, and is even moving up the batting line up for his county, to aid his plan.

Having featured 13 times for England in the longer form of the game, Vince last played for the three lions in March last year, away in New Zealand, scoring 76 in his last test innings.

Averaging 22.40 in those test matches so far, Vince knows there will be opportunities this year at the top of England's batting order.

I guess with how the winter has gone, it probably looks from afar that at the top of the order is where spaces may open up," Vince told BBC Radio Solent.

"The feedback I have got is the higher up the order you bat, the better." He went on, citing that he had spoken to both Ed Smith, the national selector and also captain Joe Root.
