England have left out wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow for their two test tour to New Zealand, meaning Jos Butler will take the reigns behind the stumps.
In a tour that will not count towards the ICC test championship, England have rang the changes, and also called up spinner Matthew Parkinson, openers Zak Crawley and Dom Sibley and Lancashire fast bowler Saqib Mahmood.
Ollie Pope has also won a recall in what will be seen as a chance to impress for the new recruits, ahead of the bigger tour to South Africa which follows on over the new year period.
Bairstow, has paid for a very poor year with the bat, averaging just over 20, and also a few missed stumpings in the recent drawn Ashes series. England have not got with a recall for Ben Folkes however, and will trust Bustler to do the wicketkeeper batsman role.
Sibley, 24 has made well over 1,000 championship runs for Warwickshire this year, and had been mentioned during the Ashes series, so will surely get his chance to replace Jason Roy at the top of the order, with Joe Denly slotting in at number three.
it will mean Joe Root again taking up his favoured number four position.
England squad: Joe Root (Yorkshire) captain, Jofra Archer (Sussex), Stuart Broad (Nottinghamshire), Rory Burns (Surrey), Jos Buttler (Lancashire), Zak Crawley (Kent), Sam Curran (Surrey), Joe Denly (Kent), Jack Leach (Somerset), Saqib Mahmood (Lancashire), Matthew Parkinson (Lancashire), Ollie Pope (Surrey), Dominic Sibley (Warwickshire), Ben Stokes (Durham), Chris Woakes (Warwickshire).
