Board Presidents XI Squad and Squad for 3 Tests Announced

By Indian Cricket Fever
September 22 2019

Rohit Sharma has been named the Captain of the Board President's XI for the warm up game against South Africa.  Virat Kohli, of course, leads the Team in the three Test Series.  The Indian team will be looking to pick up all 120 ICC Test Championship points as strong favorites, barring weather issues.  The focus will also be on Ravi Ashwin who will most likely return to International cricket after about a year hiatus in his best format, Test cricket.  The other focus will be on Rohit Sharma and his elevation as Test opener.  It will be interesting to see if Rohit opens in the BP XI warm up match too.  If he doesn't, then his seriousness about making the Test openers spot his own will be questioned.

The All-India Senior Selection Committee met in New Delhi to pick the Indian Test Team for Paytm Freedom Series for Gandhi-Mandela Trophy.

The Committee also picked the Board President’s XI team for a three-day warm-up game to be played in Vizianagaram from September 26th.

2 ball duck in warm up game. Rohit as opener experiment flops first up. Don’t think it’ll succeed in Tests. Should have picked Shubman Gill
