Franks misses Derbyshire date

Paul Franks will not make his Frizzell County Championship comeback against Derbyshire. The bowler sustained a knee injury last May and his only six overs since then came in the C&G Trophy win over Ireland at the end of last month.

Franks had hoped to
be named in the squad for the Division Two game at Trent Bridge, but he
will be given more time to recover. Andrew Harris took 11 wickets in that
win and his form has been a major factor in his side's solid start to
the season.
Meanwhile, Derbyshire
will have captain Dominic Cork available. Cork has been left out of the
England squad for the third Test with Sri Lanka as the 30-year-old aims
to continue his explosive start to the season. Bowling
in tandem with Kevin Dean, the pair have taken 54 County Championship
wickets already this year, making them the top two bowlers in Division
Two.
Steve Selwood is still
10 days away from a return from the hand injury he sustained against Lancashire.
