Boots captain, Karra Khan, promoted the No.8 batsmen to open because of his big hitting skills. "I thought if he hit a quick 20-30 in a few overs it would set us up for a good score." What followed was an impressive display of hard hitting against promotion rivals Stanton by Dale II.

Karra continued, "When we had 300 on the board I said to my players lets go for the League Record as I had seen the coverage in last week's paper". Gulman however was after Jawaid Mqbool's club record of 151, also from last Saturday, which he duly passed, with a six.

There were 12 centurions equalling the record set last week in another high scoring round of matches. Close finishes were the order of the day as two ended in ties and others went to the last over before results were achieved.

In 1D Nuthall, who are sliding down the table, nearly pulled off a great fight back away at Farndon who posted 170/8. Nuthall's Nick Sanders was on 59 when on the final ball he was run out attempting the winning run.

West Bridgford who are rocking at the top of 1G, set 167 but a gutsy performance from Caunton saw them home with two balls to spare.

In 1H Gladstone scored 150 but were able to defend that total against Lenton Abbey, as Gavin Childs 47, was out attempting to hit the winning run as Lenton's challenge finished one run short. Rainworth Welfare have found the last few weeks their most challenging as they too hung on to a tie. Welfare's, Gary Short achieved a hat trick as Carrington Cavaliers tried to boost their own promotion hopes setting 159. Rainworth matched the score but were unable to get the winning run.

Roger Suttle of Nottingham Victoria hit a top 10 bowling spot for the 2nd week running with his 7/17 against Poplars in 1H.

In 2B Wollaton experienced "déjà vu" as two batsmen reached treble figures for the second week running. Andrew Crossley hit 103, whilst Andrew Rattery followed his 106 against Eastwood with 106 at home to Ellerslie.

Top batting in the 1st XI competition went to Craig Birch 123*, for run-a-way leaders Rolls Royce Leisure in 1C. In an exciting game promotion rivals Stanton by Dale failed to chase Leisure's total of 255 by just 20 runs.

In 1A Collingham,160, managed a winning draw at home to Plumtree, 122/9, but still remain top as closest rivals Gedling Colliery 181, lost away at Eastwood Town 182/7. Attenborough scored 303/4 to beat Hucknall 145, who look likely to return to 1B after just one season, whilst Radcliffe's, 212/5, win at Balderton 211/4 boosted their chance of survival. Gotham, 218/6, move 2nd with a comfortable win over Notts. Amateurs 175.

Calverton, 272/2 were unable to dismiss Ellerslie, 218/6, so had to settle for a Winning Draw but still head 1B even though Long Eaton chalked up 185/6 in an impressive win at home to Gedling & Sherwood 182.

Bottesford, move second in 1C, after a hard fought victory away at West Bridgfordians. Batting first Bottesford scored 207/4 then saw Bridgfordians come within a whisker of victory before being dismissed 16 runs adrift. Whatton & Aslocktons seventh loss, this time at home to relegation rivals Keyworth, makes their chances of survival very slim.

Risley, 182/4, made it 8 wins out of 8 completed games to head the pack in 1D, this time beating a fast improving Wymeswold 180/9.

Wins for Hickling and Toton Sycamore see them both opening a gap from the rest in 1E while Ravenshead's, 220/4 victory over Awsworth 218/9, opens up the relegation battle as Awsworth are drawn in.

Lowdham and West Indian Caribs continue to dominate 1F as both recorded 19-point victories.

In the 2nd XI competition 2nd place Clifton Village, 250/9, inflicted the first losing draw on Kimberley 209/7. Notts. Unity Casuals, 204/2, made it 6 out of 6 to maintain 100% points against Caythorpe 201/8.

In 2D Lambley, 144/9, have lost all nine games so far, this time losing to Newstead Abbey 145/2. After convincing wins for Long Whatton II and Toton Sycamore II, next week's coming together will go a long way to determine who may become divisional champions as they both pull away from the field.
