They reached their Duckworth/Lewis adjusted total of 143 off 25 overs - with four wickets and an over to spare. Nottinghamshire faced 10 overs more, finishing on 124 for one.

Jason Gallian led the way for the Outlaws with an unbeaten 63 off 100 deliveries. He played a patient innings but the run rate was too slow to trouble Yorkshire, who were not really made to regret dropping Gallian twice in the slips.

Gallian's partners were Bilal Shafayat, who was caught and bowled by Richard Dawson for 28 off 83 balls and Kevin Pietersen, who carried his bat after scoring a faster-paced 19 off 28 balls.

A thunderstorm brought a premature end to the visitors' innings and completed a miserable week's weather in Leeds and no play was possible for about two and a half hours.

Yorkshire had an inauspicious start to their innings, with opener Wood trapped lbw by Andrew Harris without having scored. But his partner Craig White overcame this setback to play a brisk innings which gave the Phoenix the platform they needed to claim the four points. White smashed 48 off 30 balls in an innings which included nine boundaries. He was supported by Chris Silverwood at the other end, who managed a slightly more conservative 29 off 28 balls. The partnership between the two was worth a crucial 75 runs.

Both White and Silverwood fell to the same combination, caught by Chris Read off the bowling of Shafayat. In between, Paul Franks saw off McGrath with a yorker that beat the batsman for pace.Darren Lehmann contributed 20 off the 30 balls he faced, but Samit Patel accounted for him with Yorkshire 17 runs short of their winning target. Lehmann edged a good-length ball, giving Read his third catch of the innings.

Just two balls later Michael Lumb increased the tension a bit for Yorkshire by falling victim to a stumping off the bowling of Patel to the second delivery he faced. But Richard Blakey (seven not out) and Gary Fellows (26 not out) saw Yorkshire home, with Fellows sealing the victory by taking a single off Harris.
