Ashley Giles

England's top spinner, slow left-arm bowler Giles struggled at first in test cricket, but seemed to find his feet somewhat on the helpful pitches that he played on in India during winter 2001/2002.

With a bowling average of 35.38 though, he needs to take more wickets consistently, so as to bring down his average. With the bat, he can be useful coming in at number 8 or 9, with a top score of 45.

Over the coming year, he should face competition from Richard Dawson of Yorkshire for the spinner's spot in the side.
