Harbhajan, 22, was left out in the opening match of the four-Test series at Lord's with the more experienced Anil Kumble the sole spinner in the tourists' side.

It was a decision that India captain Sourav Ganguly admitted he regretted in the aftermath of the 170-run defeat.

Now, with Kumble's calf injury recurring, he is set to be reintroduced either as a direct replacement or to bowl in tandem with him, depending on how the tourists assess a Trent Bridge pitch which has perplexed Nasser Hussain.

Kumble, who will have his fitness assessed on Thursday morning, has a poor return away from India with each of his wickets costing in excess of 40.

In contrast, Harbhajan - nicknamed the Turbanator - has fared better and his 86 Test wickets since January last year put him top of the list among the Indians with Javagal Srinath and Kumble both having claimed 49.

But there are still doubts as to whether he can produce the same potency on English soil - doubts that he is quick to dispel.

"Shane Warne has always done well over here, so if he can do well, why not me?" he said.

"It is a challenge. Conditions are not that suitable here for me but if I can do well here I can do well anywhere.

"My role will be a little different, admittedly. In India it starts turning from the first day and that will not happen here.

"But if you can get bounce in India and Australia, why not in England? Muttiah Muralitharan also got a lot of turn here earlier this summer.

"So there is no pressure, I just want to go out to enjoy myself and I enjoy taking wickets."
