Elliott signs for Yorkshire

Yorkshire have named Australian opener Matthew Elliott as Darren Lehmann's replacement for the rest of the season.

Lehmann, who has passed 1000 Championship runs for the fourth successive season, will be joing Australia's one-day squad in Kenya at the end of the month.

Elliot represented Glamorgan in 2000, scoring 1076 first-class runs, but opted out of a following year after succumbing to a long-term knee-injury.

He returned to captain Victoria in 2001/02, scoring 780 first-class runs at an average of 43, and was also named the team's one-day player of the year.
