Gareth Batty and Kabir Ali shared 9 wickets today as Derbyshire were bowled out for 246.Worcestershire then closed the day on 52-1,Stephen Peters finishing not out after making 32 from 38 balls. Worcestershire looked on top today after making a decent start with the bat, Stephen Peters on 32 not out and Graeme Hick left unbeaten on 9 when bad light ended play for the day.Earlier on some fine bowling from Worcestershire had put Derbyshire in trouble before Jason Kerr and Kevin Dean put on 62 for the 9th wicket after Ben Smith had dropped Kerr when he had only made 5.

The pick of the Worcestershire bowlers was Gareth Batty yet again as he took 5-60,Kabir Ali giving him vital support with another 4 wickets.
