Kabir Ali has won the PCA's Young Player Of The Year award for 2002. Kabir finished top wicket taker at New Road this season with 71 first class wickets at an average of 25.08,within that he took four five-wicket hauls and one 10-wicket haul. This award is a great achievement considering this year has been Kabir's first full season since returning from injury. The award is also voted for by fellow professionals which makes winning the award even more special.Other well known contenders for the award included Warwickshire's Jim Troughton and Surrey's Rikki Clarke.Kabir will now be preparing for a winter representing England at their cricket academy in Australia where it is hoped he will improve his game even more so.

This season has also seen some people call for Kabir Ali to be included in the full England squad but maybe a winter in Australia will be far more beneficial to him.
