New President Elected At AGM

At Monday’s AGM,Club Members unanimously elected Norman Whiting to take over as Club President from Mike Jones.The winter of change continues it seems after Ben Smith took over the captaincy earlier in the winter from WCCC legend Graeme Hick. Whiting is a former player,Committee Member and Vice President and has been involved at the club for a total of 57 years.It is believed that he has expressed great pride at being elected as President.Martin Horton will now take on the role of Vice President.

The Chairmans Report stated that the club needs to push on with it's ground redevelopment plans and it is envisaged that the building will commence at the end of the forthcoming season (2003).

Honorary Treasurer Peter Seward,who has also been re-elected to his position,said that the club's financial situation has improved greatly over recent years.He also stated that it is vital the club makes a profit this year following three consecutive loss-making years.

During the meeting,Ben Smith was congrtulated on his election as captain by the committee whilst also wishing him and his playing colleagues all success for the forthcoming season.
