The weather was once again against Lancashire as they drew for the second time in the County Championship against Notts at Old Trafford. Despite two excellent innings from Andrew Flintoff (97) and Mal Loye (113) on the first day, which saw Loye become the first player to score centuries in his first two knocks for the County, rain on the second, third and fourth days meant there was no chance of a result.

There was enough play on the final day for Peter Martin to finish with figures of 5-54, as Notts were bowled out for 275.
