Lancashire cruised to a nine wicket win over Devon in the Cheltenham and Gloucester Trophy, with Iain Sutcliffe scoring 89 not out, and John Wood taking 4-33. The Red Rose County will now travel to Durham in Round four.

Devon (180) lost to Lancashire (182-1) by 9 wickets.

Match Report

Lancashire strolled into round four with a convincing win at Exmouth. Having won the toss and elected to field, Warren Hegg's decision was justified as his bowlers kept Devon down to 180. John Wood was the pick with a competition best of 4-33, although Gary Yates finished with 1-20 from his ten overs and Andrew Flintoff also picked up three wickets.

Only Hancock provided any resistance for the home side down the order with 73 not out.

The top order knocked off the runs with almost ten overs to spare, Sutcliffe making an unbeaten 89, and Chilton making 51.

Lancashire will now travel to Chester-le-Street to face Durham in the next round.

Man of the Match: John Wood. A career best 4-33 for the man who has impressed since his recall to the side.

Next Match: County Championship Division 1 v Middlesex, Friday-Monday at Lords.
