First day derby history favours the Imps

It's not very often that you get a local derby on the first day of the season but that's what's happening this year. City's last game against County on the first day ended with a 5-0 win and that was the first in a 41 year run of not losing to local rivals on the first day of the season.

City have an average record on the first day when it comes to local derbies with the most frequently played teams are Hull and Doncaster Rovers. In terms of Notts County, the Imps have a good record against them on the first day, drawing one and winning the other 5-0 out of the 2 games played. City haven't lost to a local rival team on the first day in 41 years when the Imps lost 4-0 at Doncaster Rovers, since then we've won 6 out of the 8 matches.
