The fans forum held on Thursday night revealed some interesting answers including the possibility of new players. Find out why Luke Foster was sent on loan, why Martin Gritton hasn't made more first team appearances and what the chances of Gareth Ainsworth coming back are.

The forum started over an hour late as the Shareholders meeting lasted considerable longer than anyone antipated and during the time, I had the opportunity to speak to John's Deehan and Schofield in the Kingston Suite and heard some interesting conversations about mars bars and possibly implementing dynamite into the training sessions (you think I'm kidding). Below are the answers to questions asked in the first half of the fans forum before I had to leave at 9:50pm

Q - (An Imps.tk exclusive question that was asked in the Kingston Suite) - I went to watch Rotherham vs Yeovil when we didn't have a game on Saturday and although it was an good game, neither side seemed to be any better than teams we have faced in League 2. Given that and the fact that we've faced Scunthorpe and Port Vale in the cups, how do you feel we'll do if we got promoted this season?

Answer = I feel we'd do quite well and hopefully achieve at least a midtable position, if not challenge for a playoff place but we've got to get their first which we're trying to achieve this season. 

Q = I noticed that the Echo has reported that you are a scout for Ireland. I was wondering if this would benefit City?

Answer = I think to be honest, when I came for the interview, we met in Grantham, I was quite clearly that I had a good relationship with Steve Staunton and had been asked to do a lot of scouting, match reports etc.

The international breaks have given me an opportunity to see some good young players at that level that could possibly come to this club in the future if we are given a chance. There are quite a lot of youngsters at Tottenham who look like they're very interesting prospects.

Hopefully a few of the younger talents might come to us eventually as they are potentially good international players and would only be a good thing for this club. Lee (Frecklington) also made a few recommendations of players when he returned from his B international and his inclusion in the squad was great for him and the club and he realised whilst there that he wasn't too far off being a Premiership player.

Q = What is your opinion on the style of play?

Answer = We'd like to thank the fans for being patient and understand why we play this way. They've took the way we've played and it's very much appreciated. We don't think there is a right way of playing football, we just play in a way that we think will win us a lot of games.

Q =  Where are the sprinkler's always on?

Answer = We feel the type of football we play needs a bit of water on the pitch to "zip about" and make it easier to play our game.

Q = With the current high profile of the club in the media, are any of the players attracting other clubs?

Answer =  I'd find it very surprised if the players weren't being watched, especially being 2nd but no-one has made any offers as of yet and from a non-financial review, hopefully that wont change because we don't want to lose any of the first team regulars.

Q = A few weeks ago, we had some injuries and Mettam made his first start and I looked through the squad to see who was at hand and the only name that stood out was Luke Foster, I just wondered why he hasn't been given a chance?

Answer = Luke wasn't getting the side earlier in the season and we didn't have a rush of reserve games so we thought it was best that he went out on loan.

Q = Is there any chance that when January comes, that we will buy another forward just incase the first choice 2 get injured?

Answer = I don't disagree of your assessment of what's needed to get out of the league. The other positions are well covered but we need another striker or 2. We're actively pursuing 2 or 3 at the minute and we're watching them on a regular basis and hopefully one or two might lead to something else. We're trying to get a striker who will get the fans out of their seats.

Q = What's your opinion on Gritton?

Answer = He's been unlucky really, everytime he's gotten close to a start, he's been unlucky with niggling injuries the day before the games or picking up an illness, other than that, we've been impressed with what we've seen and if given the opportunity, he won't let anybody down. Having watched him in the reserves, he's definitely good back up for the first team.

Q = I spoke to Jack Hobbs recently and he's hoping to come out on loan to a lower league club to get experience and I would like to see Gareth Ainsworth back, any chance of these?

Answer = Both players are injured at the minute, Jack's still coming to Sincil Bank  to visit us regulary but his injury would prevent him joining us for a while. Ainsworth has also been made captain at QPR so the chances of getting him would be highly unlikely.
