Reserves uninspiring in another defeat

Lincoln City Reserves lost yet again. A youthful side lost 3-0 at local rivals Grimsby Town making it 9 games without a league win. The Mariners were in control for 90 minutes, with the young Imps side barely having a shot in anger against an experienced Grimsby side.

Grimsby lined up with former Imp Matt Bloomer joining Michael Reddy and Isaiah Rankin as big names in the line up for town. It was however Peter Till who gave Town the lead, heading home from a Boshell cross. Luke Baxter made a find save from Andy Taylor just minute before Rankin made it 2-0. His shot from 25 yards out appeared to surprise Baxter and enter the back of the net.

Just like the first team's league game there last season, Grimsby scored a 3rd before half time, with Peter Till having all the time in the world to slot in at the back post. That's how it stayed until the end, with City only managing a single shot.
