Weir-Daley signed a contract....at County

Spencer Weir-Daley has decided not to join the Imps, instead joining City's local rivals, Notts County. This comes as a blow to the Imps who have also had a bid for Danny Crow rejected. City appeared to be in a 2-horse race with Bradford City to sign Weir-Daley, but Notts County appear to have come out of nowhere to sign Weir-Daley as part of their latest attempt to escape this division.

SWD has agreed a 2 year deal at Meadow Lane, meaning that the Imps have still yet to sign anyone so far this summer. Speaking to Notts County's official website, he revealed that Notts County made him feel the most wanted out of any club that offered him a deal.

"I feel Notts County is the best option, I spoke to the manager and his assistant and they were great with me and sold me the club, about how it was stable and that it was one of the main reasons for me coming here. It is also always nice to be wanted at a club, and feel imporant to the team which the manager has done in the talks we've had."

Although this comes a big blow to the Imps fans, it now gives the opportunity for the club to pursue other interests, possibly following up a £100,000 bid that was rejected for Peterborough's Danny Crow the other day. Only time will tell.
