Lincoln City have finally announced the first signing of the summer with ex-Scunthorpe United man, Steve Torpey set to join the Imps. Lincoln will probably be the 36 year old's final club, but as he's about to make his first appearance for the Imps, Paul Morgan has now definitely played his last, leaving the club via mutual consent after 6 years at Sincil Bank.

Torpey is the third player to have played against the Imps in the playoff ro Scunthorpe to join the Imps, following in the footsteps of Jamie McCombe and Martin Carruthers. He has found himself out of favour at Glanford Park in recent years, falling behind Billy Sharp, Paul Hayes and Andy Keogh in the rankings at Scunthorpe.

Torpey's signing now means that City's 3 strikers now reach a combined age of 100.

Departing Sincil Bank is Paul Morgan, it comes as virtually no surprise after he handed in a transfer request and it is more than likely he will join Bury within the next few weeks. It ends his 6 year stint at Sincil Bank after joining from Preston in 2001.

The highlight of his City career was leading City out in the first playoff final, his consistancy made him a fan favourite before a host of injuries saw him make only a small handful of appearances, eventually losing the captaincy to Jamie McCombe, and then Scott Kerr.
