Jackson wins Manager of the Month

Peter Jackson has been named as League 2's Manager of the Month following a 15 points haul in February, a run that has moved us away from the relegation zone. Jackson beat off competition from Graham Turner and Darren Ferguson amongst others and it is the ideal goodbye present as he leaves Sincil Bank to start his treatment for throat cancer next week.

John Schofield was the last Imps manager to be named Manager of the Month. That was in October 2006 when City claimed 12 points from 12, with only an exit from the JP Trophy stopping it from being the perfect month. February 2006 was the previous time before that when Keith Alexander's side had a near perfect month to turn from a relegation candidate into promotion chasers.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Jackson stated that he believed the confidence of the side was the key to putting in 5 straight wins and guiding the Imps to near enough being safe in the League.
