Rochdale continued their fine form with yet another victory as a 3-0 win over Barnet leaves them with an outside chance of automatic promotion. Aldershot also won promotion on Tuesday night when they drew at Exeter City. MK Dons also did themselves no harm as they now just need to avoid defeat on Saturday in order to return to League One after two years.

Rochdale's 100th season as a football club could potentially see their first promotion for a generation or two. They have been in fine form recently and continued that with a 3-0 thumping of Barnet. Goals from Le Fondre, Howe and Higginbotham virtually guarantees Dale will be in the Playoffs but also gives them a sniff of automatic promotion.

Wycombe also secured themselves a good win at Grimsby Town with a 1-0 win. It gives them a 5 point gap over Chesterfield with just three games to play.

However, a draw realistically did nothing for either MK or Hereford. A win would have secured automatic promotion for MK but a draw with MK means they still have some work to do. The draw gives Hereford a slight advantage of Stockport County leading into the final three games.

However, one team did secure promotion and that was Aldershot. They needed just a point at Exeter to guarantee going up and they secured that when Donnelly equalised a Stansfield opener.

Torquay were the only team that could have caught them before kick off but they'll be happy enough with a win against Northwich because that means the Gulls are now guaranteed a Playoff place. That is because they are 9 points above 6th placed Exeter but Stevenage (5th) and Burton (3rd) play each other at the weekend and Torquay can no longer finish below both.

The race below Torquay certainly tightened up though as Burton, Cambridge, Stevenage and Exeter are now only seperated by a point. With three games to go it's anyone's guess which of those three will join Torquay in the end of season lottery.

Hope 'Dale go up through play-offs, if any set of fans deserve success after decades of absolutely nothing, its this loyal bunch!

i agree with your sentiments . some supporters have been going for donkeys years . i seem to remember a slot on out local news about a bloke in his 70s . not missed a home game for about 50 yrs . i thinks it was something like that anyway .
