Hereford United will be playing League One football at Edgar Street next season after a 3-0 win at Brentford. Also, the playoff fixtures have now been confirmed in the Blue Square Premier, including a south west derby and the two teams that are two hours away from the Lincoln. Bournemouth avoided joining League 2 for yet another week.

Hereford United were promoted after a 3-0 n at Brentford that included a miss from the penalty spot. It was their second promotion in 24 months and they will be hosting some big sides next season at Edgar Street. They will also face one of Stockport, Rochdale, Wycombe or Darlington as they are now the four teams in the Playoffs. All it requires now is to decide who faces who in the end of season lottery.

Rochdale scored a late equaliser at Bury but Darlington are heading into the Playoffs on an horrendous run of form. Dagenham came from 2-0 down against the Quakers to win and the team from the north east will probably end up going into the playoffs with the longest odds.

There are still only two teams coming down from League One at the minute after Bournemouth won yet again and can now stay up with a win next week Even a draw could be good enough due to the goal difference. Bournemouth travel to Carlisle with the hopes of staying up.

Gillingham could also stay up but they have to win at Leeds to stand any chance. They are both trying to catch Cheltenham who are at home to Doncaster. Crewe still need a point to guarantee safety but they can only go down if they lose and both Bournemouth and Cheltenham win.

The race to stay in League 2 now only involves two teams and one has an uphill challenge. Mansfield's defeat to Rotherham leaves them three points from safety with one game to play. The defeat saw fans attack Keith Haslam in his office and they now have to win at Dagenham to stand any chance of staying up. However, they will be down by then if Chester pick up a point at Stockport on Tuesday night.

The teams aiming to join Aldershot in the Football League now know their opponents in the Playoffs. Cambridge finished the season second and a 2-0 win at Northwich will more than likely see them enter the Playoffs as favourites. They will face Burton Albion. Nigel Clough's men drew 4-4 with the team they could potentially meet in the final, Exeter City. The Grecians will face Torquay after the Gulls surprisingly lost at home to Crawley.

The first legs of the BSP Playoffs will be Thursday with Exeter vs Torquay and the Burton Albion vs Cambridge will be played on Friday night.

went to the brentford hereford match as i was up in London for me sisters engagement party. Good to see Hereford promoted and i can see why there going up. Excellent away display from them.

One more thing I like about the BSP Playoff semis is that we know we're guaranteed to get a straight short distance vs long distance game. So in other words, we're guaranteed short distance interest until the final whistle of the final.
